Philosophy Discussion Group

This new discussion group will focus initially on the Cartesian Meditations at a pace mutually agreed upon by the participants and move onto other works as desired and selected by the group. Athenaeum member Bradley Owen, a retired professor of philosophy, serves as the facilitator of this group.

1) What is Descartes' motivation in the Meditations?
2) What is the relationship between truth, doubt and certainty?
3) What role does imagination play?

Athenaeum member Bradley Owen, PhD, taught philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago and San Diego State University. He and his wife moved to Philadelphia in May 2024.
