Immerse yourself in the world and gardens of the region’s botanical history with this 90-minute guided walking tour of Bartram’s Garden, led by Director of Horticulture and Head Gardener Mandy Katz. Located on 50 acres along the Tidal Schuylkill River, Bartram’s Garden is a National Historic Landmark known as America’s oldest surviving botanic garden, with interpreted landscapes showcasing the plant palettes developed in the 18th and 19th centuries by the acclaimed Bartram family, including founder John Bartram (1699–1777), his son William Bartram, and his granddaughter Ann Bartram Carr. The tour will focus on the historic botanic garden, including the William Bartram Quarter and significant specimen trees, and the Bartram House.
