Don’t miss the unique artmaking workshop! Have you ever picked a 4-leaf clover you happened upon in your yard, collected interesting leaves on a walk in the woods, or dried flowers received from a loved one? Join us to learn about the history of artists using botanicals as part of their artwork and how to properly collect and press botanicals using Botanical Specimen Guidelines. Then create your own quilt square using botanical materials.
Materials will be provided.
Jody Graff is a multimedia visual artist living and working in Philadelphia and an Associate Professor in the Graphic Design program in the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design at Drexel University. Her passion for using the power of design to celebrate and elevate the human condition comes through in fine art, in client graphic design work and in the classroom. She enjoys exploring projects at every scale (miniature, life-size and monumental). She also has a keen interest in environmental issues, a science nerd’s love of insects, leaves and trees and an insatiable curiosity. Her hope is that her work will encourage viewers to see and consider the natural world in a new way.
