Throughout the semiquincentennial, join a small group of fellow Athenæum members to explore the Founders' educations and, in particular, their devotion to the Classics of Ancient Greece and Rome -- and how that influence shaped the ideals of the new nation.
The group will use as a guide Pulitzer Prize-winning author Thomas Hicks's book, What America's Founders Learned from the Greeks and Romans and How That Shaped Our Country (2021).
Registration is for the full year, with meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month. All registration sales are final.
Athenaeum member Bradley Owen, Ph.D., serves as the facilitator of this group. Brad taught philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago and San Diego State University. He and his wife moved to Philadelphia in 2024.
Athenaeum member price: $120.00
Student price: $60.00
