Allegro Chamber Music Concert: Bijoux Saxophone Duo
Aiwen Zhang and Valentin Kovalev

Guided by their cultural diversity – Aiwen Zhang from Shanghai and Valentin Kovalev from Siberia – and the saxophone’s remarkable versatility, Bijoux Sax Duo fuses genres and traditions with a classical foundation to create boundary-pushing performances.

Join us for an intimate performance followed by light refreshments and a meet-and-greet with the performers.

The concert starts at 5:30PM.

About Bijoux Saxophone Duo: As the only two saxophonists admitted to the Paris Conservatory in 2018, Aiwen Zhang and Valentin Kovalev quickly forged a partnership built on shared vision and musical excellence. Both artists began performing as soloists from a young age, and together they have amassed over 50 international prizes and awards. As a duo, they have performed across North America (United States, Canada, Mexico), Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Andorra), and Asia (Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, Russia). Their work extends beyond the stage, as they regularly organize benefit concerts for social causes and bring classical music to diverse communities. Since 2022, they have been based in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, where they live with their two-year-old daughter and a lively household of three cats and a dog. Aiwen Zhang and Valentin Kovalev are Henri Selmer Paris and Conn-Selmer artists, and co-founders of their non-profit organization Altissimo Arts (501C-3).
