Join us to celebrate the launch of Nancy Moses's lastest book The Rescuers: The Remarkable People Who Saved World Heritage. She will share the stories of the courageous individuals who gave their all to save cultural treasures on the brink of destruction. The stories celebrate their grit and determination while addressing some of the most consequential issues of our times, such as global warming and unregulated tourism’s threat to fragile sites, Russia’s targeted destruction of Ukrainian cultural heritage, agricultural expansion’s risk to endangered species, religious and cultural genocide in the Middle East, and competing claims of ownership of Native American treasures by museums and tribes.
A book signing and light reception will follow the lecture.
Nancy Moses is an author, media producer, and former museum director. Her four-book series explores iconic cultural treasures and the provocative issues they raise. Nancy was Executive Director of the Atwater Kent Museum, Visiting Scholar at the American University of Rome, and Chair of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
