Classic Guitar Soirée
Hao Yang

Please join us for an evening of classical guitar with Chinese guitarist Hao Yang. Ms. Yang entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2014 at age 16 and studied with Grammy-award winning guitarist Jason Vieaux. Ms. Yang has won top prizes in numerous guitar competitions, including the 2015 Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition (Senior Division), the Andres Segovia 7th International Guitar Competition, and the 54th Markneukirchen International Instrumental competition. Ms. Yang has performed concerts in major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Miller Theatre, Princeton Sound Kitchen, and Subculture NYC, and has been invited to perform solo recitals at the Cleveland, Panama, and Beijing International Guitar Festivals. Hao Yang appears by exclusive arrangement with Astral Artists, Inc. in Philadelphia - www.astralartists.org.

The Classical Guitar Soirée Recital Series at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia is offered in partnership with the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society. A Soirée is a lively and intimate gathering that increases the knowledge of the participants through conversation and music. The classical guitar is often best listened to and understood within this context.
