Join us at 4PM for a tour of the exhibition in the Athenaeum's Haas Gallery with LHPF's CEO and Executive Director Edward Thome.
Located in Elkins Park, Lynnewood Hall was designed by Horace Trumbauer in 1897 as a home for Peter A.B. Widener and his family. After serving as a residence and later a seminary, the 110,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion was left vacant and crumbling for over thirty years.
Presented in partnership with The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation, Inc. (LHPF), this exhibition is the first to display fragments from the building, personal items from the Widener family and archival photographs to tell the rich history of Lynnewood Hall and what the future holds for this storied property.
Please note: The total time for this event is 1 hour, which includes 30 minutes for the tour and 30 minutes to view the exhibition on your own. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes in advance.
A portion of the registration fee supports the work of Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation.
